HAPPY THANKSGIVING + A NEW PERSONAL BLOG

I hope everybody is spending this Thanksgiving with the ones they love and overeating copious amounts of mashed potatoes. I know I am. :) Speaking of family, I recently started a separate blog for all of my personal photos. This time of year when wedding season is slowing down and family time is speeding up, I want to share a lot of our family adventures with out overloading my photography blog with non-wedding images. So I have started The Super Rad Blog!! I have already posted a bunch of images from our recent trip to Portland. So go check them out if you're interested and be sure to check back often as I'm sure there will be lots of updates over there over the next few months.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

FILM // PERSONAL PICS

Our recent outings, on film. :-) Spending some quality time at the park...

For Mother's Day, we spent the afternoon in Idyllwild, just walking around, shopping and eating...

There was an "I opened the back of my camera but forgot to rewind the film" moment. These made for a happy mistake. :-) I love the light leaks.

Clearly Rowan's favorite "silly face."

Love...

Rowan turned 3 last week. (What?!?!) And for the first time ever I used my film camera to document a BIG event in our lives. The Nikon D700 wasn't used for his birthday, party or Disneyland trip. :-)

Here's that silly face again...

Showing us how old he is...

My family came in town for a little party...

This year I decided to not put any pressure on myself for Rowan's party and avoided using Pinterest. I did frozen Costco lasagnas, bought a cake from Vons and decorations from Party City. And guess what... the party was still awesome and I'm still a good mom. ;-)

Then we heading out to Disneyland with my parents in their RV. Rowan thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Downtown Disney...

Getting our Disneyland on...

VEGAS GETAWAY

This past weekend Kyle and I took our second ever weekend trip away from Rowan.  SECOND?  What the?  (You can find our first trip away from Rowan here.)  And as I sit on my couch, only being home for about 5 hours, I still cannot fully comprehend all that we got to experience this weekend with our good friends.  Thank you to Brittany (of Brides by Brittany) and her husband Wes for inviting us along on something truly epic.  I brought my D700 but only managed to bring it out on the flight over.  All other pics taken were on the good 'ol iPhone.

And then all the cell phone pics of the rest of the trip....

ALMOST 3

Its completely mind blowing that Rowan is almost 3.  This kid gets more awesome every day.  I'm loving this age more than any other.  Sure, he says "No" WAAAAY more than I'd like.  But he also tells jokes (or he thinks he does) and knows how to make believe.  He knows how to crawl into our bed in the morning and he knows how to sing entire songs that I've been singing to him since birth.  Love this kid.  Love him to pieces. And here are some pics from the last few months...

Spending some time at the beach... in his diaper.

Hanging out at home in 6 month old Halloween pj's...

Visiting a diary and seeing soooo many cows...

Running around the Wild Animal Park...

Starting his first day of preschool... (Yes, I cried.)

Coming down stairs to his Easter basket...

And playing at the park...

And finally... getting a much over due hair cut.

Only one month until his 3rd birthday.  He's growing up way to fast!

VACATION TO CAYUCOS // FILM

Way back in September we went on a little family trip to Cayucos to visit with my family. Remember??  Well, while we were there I shot 3 rolls of black and white.  And because I'm cheap lazy slow, I just got them developed today. Check it. These first few are at home before we left. :-)  Row looooves his cars.
